ICE BofA US HY option-adjusted spread; widening = default-risk repricing.

High-yield spreads measure the premium junk-rated borrowers pay over Treasuries. Widening means markets are repricing default risk — historically rising sharply before and during every recession, and one of the fastest credit-stress indicators available weekly.
